Over the past couple of years, Columbia District has undergone quite a transformation. New highrise developments are also currently underway, such as Manchester’s 12-acre, $1.5-billion Pacific Gateway multi-use project near Little Italy, slated to open in 2021. There is also the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan which includes most of Columbia District’s waterfront.
All these changes made this scenic waterfront neighborhood a largely commercial district with a variety of mixed-use and government buildings, as well as some of San Diego’s most coveted luxury highrise condos and lofts like Savina and Bayside.
